How to Download your Bank Statements
Jason Longo
It's quick and easy to download your online bank statements for your mortgage application!
Providing your last 3 months of bank statements is a standard requirement when applying for a home loan, so this will be one of things we will ask you for when completing your application. This isn’t so we can check in on your spending, but so that we can make sure everything is tickety boo and ensure the bank can assess your application as quickly as possible.
It’s an easy process, but in case you have any issues here’s a step-by-step run down on how to access your bank statements from the main banks:
BNZ
- Go to BNZ’s website and log into your internet banking account
- Click on menu then select documents
- Click on statements, then select the appropriate account
- Choose the statement you want to view
- The PDF file will open in a preview window. Click save as/download to download the file to your computer. Helpful hint: Tip: If you’re an Apple Mac user without Adobe Reader, right-click on the statement and select Open with Preview. You can then download the file as a PDF.
Westpac
- Go to Westpac's website and log into your online banking.
- Choose the account you want to view statements for.
- Click download statements on the right-hand side of the page.
- Select your date range and click view statements.
- Choose the statement you want to view.
- If the PDF file doesn’t automatically download into your downloads folder, an online preview page will open. Click download to save the bank statement and name it accordingly.
ANZ
- Go to ANZ’s website and log into your online banking
- Click on the Documents tab
- In the Document Library, filter the statements using the dropdown menus and then click search
- Select the tickbox next to the statement you want to download, then click download. ANZ needs your statements to be separated by account, so it’s best to save statements for one account at a time
- Your PDF file will open in a Preview page. Click Save As/Download to save the bank statement, and name the file as the respective month.
ASB
- Go to ASB’s website and log into your FastNet internet banking account
- Click on menu and select documents, which is near the bottom of the page
- In the document centre filter your statements by selecting a time period, document type, or filtering by account
- Select the statement you want to view
- Your PDF will then open in a preview page, then just click download and save the statement. It’s helpful to name it according to the month too.
KiwiBank
- Go to KiwiBank’s website and log into internet banking
- Click on the Statement Vault on the right hand side of the window
- Click the download button which is next to each statement you want to view
- On the preview page, click Download to save the statements to your computer
- If the PDF file does not automatically download into your Downloads folder, a Preview page will open. Click Download to save the bank statement.
Downloading your IRD proof of income
- If you need to provide proof of your income, you can do that through Inland Revenue.
- Log in to myIR
- Go to your online income tax account
- Select 'view details' (you will find this on the right hand side of the page next to earning summary).
- Choose the correct income year (ex. the 2022 tax year starts on 1 April 2021 and finishes 31 March 2022).
- Print or download the summary of your income. (It'll be displayed on the page).
If you don't have myIR setup, you can contact the IRD to request a summary of income by phoning 0800 775 247.
